วันที่ 29 พฤษภาคม 2569 องค์การสหประชาชาติ กรุงเทพมหานคร ได้จัดงานเฉลิมฉลองวันวิสาขบูชา โดยมีพระสงฆ์ นักวิชาการ นักการทูต ผู้แทนองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ และแขกผู้มีเกียรติจากนานาประเทศเข้าร่วมงาน เพื่อร่วมรำลึกถึงวันสำคัญทางพระพุทธศาสนาซึ่งได้รับการยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ
ในการนี้ Assistant Professor Dr. John Johnston อาจารย์ประจำวิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้เข้าร่วมงานในฐานะผู้แทนของวิทยาลัย โดยได้ร่วมพบปะและแลกเปลี่ยนกับผู้เข้าร่วมงานจากหลากหลายองค์กรและประเทศ ตลอดจนร่วมเฉลิมฉลองวันวิสาขบูชา ซึ่งนับเป็นหนึ่งในวันสำคัญที่สุดในปฏิทินทางพระพุทธศาสนา
การเข้าร่วมงานครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของวิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษาในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทางวิชาการในระดับนานาชาติ การแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ระหว่างวัฒนธรรม และการสร้างความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างศาสนา สังคม และประชาคมโลก ผ่านการศึกษาและองค์ความรู้ด้านศาสนาและมนุษยศาสตร์

On 29 May 2026, the United Nations in Bangkok hosted a Vesak celebration, bringing together venerable monks, scholars, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, and distinguished guests from around the world to commemorate one of the most important occasions in the Buddhist calendar.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. John Johnston, Lecturer at the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, attended the event as a representative of the College. He joined participants from diverse organizations and countries in celebrating Vesak and extending goodwill on this important international observance.
The College’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to fostering international academic engagement and intercultural dialogue, while promoting greater understanding among religions, cultures, and societies through the study of religion and the humanities.
