วันที่ 4 มิถุนายน 2569 ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ไพเราะ มากเจริญ คณบดีวิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล พร้อมด้วยอาจารย์ ดร.พิบูลย์ ชุมพลไพศาล ร่วมกับเอกอัครราชทูตธฤต จรุงวัฒน์ เลขาธิการมูลนิธิไทย เอกอัครราชทูตโสรัจ สุขถาวร ผู้ช่วยเลขาธิการมูลนิธิไทย และนายไพฑูรย์ สงค์แก้ว ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายบริหาร มูลนิธิไทย เข้ากราบนมัสการพระพรหมพัชรญาณมุนี (พระอาจารย์ชยสาโร) ณ กรมการกงสุล กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ถนนแจ้งวัฒนะ เพื่อขอรับฟังข้อคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการจัดประชุมวิชาการด้านพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทนานาชาติ ซึ่งมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นในช่วงต้นปี พ.ศ. 2570
ในการนี้ พระอาจารย์ชยสาโรได้เมตตาให้ข้อคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะอันเป็นประโยชน์เกี่ยวกับทิศทางการพัฒนาการประชุมวิชาการ การส่งเสริมการศึกษาพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาทในระดับนานาชาติ ตลอดจนบทบาทของพระพุทธศาสนาในการสร้างความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างผู้คนต่างวัฒนธรรมและภูมิหลัง
คณะผู้เข้าพบยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ การพัฒนาเครือข่ายนักวิชาการและสถาบันการศึกษาจากนานาประเทศ รวมถึงแนวทางการเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ด้านพระพุทธศาสนาให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทของสังคมโลกในปัจจุบัน
การเข้ากราบนมัสการและขอรับฟังข้อคิดเห็นในครั้งนี้ นับเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการนำข้อเสนอแนะจากพระอาจารย์ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิและเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับนานาชาติ มาประกอบการวางแผนและพัฒนาการประชุมวิชาการดังกล่าว เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อวงวิชาการ พระพุทธศาสนา และการสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
ความร่วมมือระหว่างมูลนิธิไทย วิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และเครือข่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องในครั้งนี้ สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันในการส่งเสริมการศึกษาพระพุทธศาสนาเถรวาท การสร้างเครือข่ายวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ และการเผยแพร่คุณค่าของพระพุทธศาสนาสู่สังคมโลกอย่างสร้างสรรค์และยั่งยืน

On June 4, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Pairor Makcharoen, Dean of the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, along with Lecturer Dr. Pibul Choompolpaisal, joined Ambassador Tharit Charungvat, Secretary-General of the Thailand Foundation, Ambassador Sorajak Sukthaworn, Assistant Secretary-General of the Thailand Foundation, and Mr. Phaitoon Songkaeo, Director of Administration of the Thailand Foundation, in paying respects and having an audience with Venerable Phra Phrom Phatcharayanamuni (Phra Ajahn Jayasaro). The meeting took place at the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Chaeng Watthana Road, to seek his insights and recommendations regarding the guidelines for organizing the upcoming International Theravada Buddhism Academic Conference, scheduled to be held in early 2027.
On this occasion, Phra Ajahn Jayasaro compassionately shared valuable insights and suggestions regarding the future direction of the academic conference, the promotion of Theravada Buddhist studies on an international level, and the role of Buddhism in fostering mutual understanding among people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
The delegation also exchanged perspectives on academic cooperation, the development of networks involving scholars and educational institutions from various countries, and approaches to disseminating Buddhist knowledge in a way that aligns with the contemporary context of global society.
This audience and consultation mark a significant opportunity to integrate recommendations from a highly qualified and internationally recognized revered teacher into the planning and development of the conference. This ensures tangible benefits for the academic community, Buddhism, and international cooperation.
