วิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา ม.มหิดล ขยายเครือข่ายวิชาการระดับสากล ร่วมหารือความร่วมมือกับ Otani University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
วิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล เดินหน้าขยายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการในระดับนานาชาติ โดยระหว่างวันที่ 15–26 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 อาจารย์ ดร.สุชาดา ศรีเศรษฐวรกุล รองคณบดีฝ่ายเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและเครือข่ายความร่วมมือ ได้รับเชิญจาก Otani University เมืองเกียวโต ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ให้เดินทางไปดำเนินงานด้านความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและวิจัยคัมภีร์พระพุทธศาสนา
การเยือนครั้งนี้มุ่งเน้นการวางรากฐานความร่วมมือระยะยาวระหว่างสองสถาบัน โดยเฉพาะการเตรียมการจัดทำ Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) เพื่อพัฒนาความร่วมมือด้านพุทธศาสนศึกษา การวิจัยร่วมระหว่างคณาจารย์ การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และทรัพยากรทางวิชาการ ตลอดจนการร่วมกันพัฒนาและยื่นขอทุนวิจัยในระดับนานาชาติ
ในการนี้ รองคณบดีฯ ได้เข้าพบ Professor Ichiraku Makoto อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัย Otani เพื่อหารือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์เกี่ยวกับทิศทางความร่วมมือในอนาคต รวมทั้งได้ประชุมเชิงลึกกับ Professor Dash Shobha Rani แห่ง Shin Buddhist Comprehensive Research Institute ผู้ดูแลโครงการ Buddhist Manuscripts Research Project เกี่ยวกับการสร้างเครือข่ายวิจัยคัมภีร์ การแลกเปลี่ยนทรัพยากรทางวิชาการ และการพัฒนาโครงการวิจัยร่วมในระดับสากล
นอกเหนือจากภารกิจด้านความร่วมมือเชิงสถาบัน รองคณบดีฯ ยังได้ศึกษาวิจัยคัมภีร์ใบลานและเอกสารพระพุทธศาสนาที่เก็บรักษา ณ Otani University ซึ่งเป็นทรัพยากรทางวิชาการสำคัญด้านพุทธศาสนา การดำเนินงานครั้งนี้นับเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการยกระดับงานวิจัยด้านพุทธศาสตร์ของวิทยาลัยฯ สู่มาตรฐานสากล และคาดว่าจะนำไปสู่การลงนามความร่วมมืออย่างเป็นทางการในอนาคตอันใกล้

The College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, continues to strengthen its international academic engagement. During 15–26 February 2026, Dr. Suchada Srisetthaworakul, Associate Dean for Information Technology and Collaborative Networks, was invited by Otani University in Kyoto, Japan, to advance institutional collaboration and conduct research in Buddhist manuscript studies.
The visit focused on establishing a long-term academic partnership between the two institutions, including preparations for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Key areas of collaboration include Buddhist textual studies, joint research initiatives among faculty members, academic resource exchange, and the joint development of international research grant proposals.
During her visit, Dr. Suchada met with Professor Ichiraku Makoto, President of Otani University, to discuss strategic directions for future cooperation. She also held in-depth discussions with Professor Dash Shobha Rani of the Shin Buddhist Comprehensive Research Institute, coordinator of the Buddhist Manuscripts Research Project, focusing on manuscript research collaboration, international academic networking, and scholarly resource exchange.
In addition to institutional discussions, Dr. Suchada conducted research on palm-leaf manuscripts and significant Buddhist textual materials preserved at Otani University. This engagement marks an important step in enhancing the College’s research excellence in Buddhist Studies and expanding its global academic network.
The collaboration is expected to lead to the formal signing of an MoU and further joint research initiatives in the near future.
