เมื่อวันที่ 16 เมษายน 2569 วิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา ม.มหิดล ร่วมกับ สำนักงานพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งชาติ จัดกิจกรรมต่อเนื่องในโครงการ “วัดสีเขียว” (Green Temple) ครั้งที่ 2 ณ พุทธมณฑล จ.นครปฐม กิจกรรมครั้งนี้เน้นย้ำถึง “ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคำสอนพุทธศาสนากับปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมถึงการปฏิวัติวัดไทยสู่ความยั่งยืนเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและอนาคตของลูกหลาน” แก่พระภิกษุ/สามเณรและผู้ปกครองกว่า 120 รูป/คน
กิจกรรมในครั้งนี้ อ.ดร.บุญมี พวงเพชร หัวหน้าโครงการ ได้เรียนเชิญ รศ.ดร.สมพงศ์ โอทอง ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ได้บรรยายถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคำสอนพุทธศาสนากับปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อม และการบูรณาการหลักธรรมทางพุทธศาสนากับเทคโนโลยีสีเขียวในการแก้ปัญหา เพื่อสร้างความยั่งยืนในทุกมิติ คือ สิ่งแวดล้อม เศรษฐกิจ และสังคม และมีกิจกรรมการคัดแยกขยะ โดยคุณญาดานุช มงคลเนตร์
โครงการนี้สอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยังยืน (SDGs) ได้แก่:
เป้าหมายที่ 11: เมืองและชุมชนที่ยั่งยืน (Sustainable Cities and Communities) ส่งเสริมให้วัดเป็นพื้นที่สาธารณะที่สะอาด ปลอดภัย และมีการจัดการสิ่งแวดล้อที่ดีเพื่อชุมชน
เป้าหมายที่ 17: ความร่วมมือเพื่อเป้าหมายที่ยั่งยืน (Partnerships for the Goals) เป็นการบูรณาการความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคการศึกษา (ม.มหิดล) และหน่วยงานระดับประเทศ (สำนักงานพระพุทธศาสนาแห่งชาติ) เพื่อขับเคลื่อนงานด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

On April 16, 2026, the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the National Office of Buddhism, organized a follow-up activity for the “Green Temple” project (2nd edition) at Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom. This activity emphasized the “relationship between Buddhist teachings and environmental issues, including the revolution of Thai temples toward sustainability for the environment and the future of our children” for over 120 monks, novices, and guardians.
In this activity, Dr. Boonmee Puangpet, the project leader, invited Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompong O-Thong, an environmental expert, to give a lecture on the relationship between Buddhist teachings and environmental issues. The lecture covered the integration of Buddhist principles with green technology to solve problems and create sustainability in all dimensions: environmental, economic, and social. Additionally, there was a waste sorting activity led by Ms. Yadanuch Mongkolnet.
This project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Promoting temples as clean, safe public spaces with good environmental management for the community.
Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals – Integrating cooperation between the educational sector (Mahidol University) and national agencies (National Office of Buddhism) to drive concrete environmental work.
