College of Religious Studies (CRS) has continually developed the Degree programs since 1999 when the undergraduate degree program (BA) started. The programs aim to provide the students with opportunities to gain knowledge in a variety of academic subjects which are necessary for their lives in the modern world. The courses offered in the programs include religious studies, ethics, social sciences, information technology and foreign languages.
CRS programs desire to produce well-rounded graduates possessing skills and qualifications to benefit the society which include: practical application of religious belief and practice, knowledgeof inter-religious understanding, ethical integrity, and other necessary skills engaging in various occupations and work capabilities for living harmoniously among different religions and cultures in the communities.
The main objective of the program is to provide students with believer-oriented models of religious practice and objective “scientific” understandings of religion.
Between 1999 and 2007, the curriculum of the programs were improved and standardized to be in keeping with other programs offered at Mahidol University. Foreign lecturers from leading universities such as University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, UK and University of California Santa Barbara, USA, have been invited to join the programs. The program curriculums have been promoted and updated continuously in accordance with the program objective and the vision of the College.
Since 2007, the second phase of program development has been continued, in order to establish itself as a prominent center of academic and research programs in Religious Studies, the programs have included the initiative strategies to strengthen the relationship with foreign faculties and expand the networking collaboration with international universities
The CRS offers international graduate programs: Master of Art and Doctor of Philosophy programs to provide international standard of education and training to produce qualified scholars and researcher to workin Thailand and in foreign universities and organizations.
